The Special Projects of the Garden Club of Allegheny County (GCAC) are based on our organization’s mission as well as the objectives of the Garden Club of America (GCA) and have developed in conjunction with members’ interests and community needs as interpreted by our Long Range Planning Committee (LRP).

The role of the LRP is to project the course of GCAC into the future, setting long range goals and objectives that will help keep GCAC one step ahead in maintaining its dynamic and unique character. This committee strives to be responsible for and responsive to new, creative and expanding ideas from members that fall within the definition of our mission as they process project proposals and grants in terms of desirability and feasibility based on community needs, membership interests, and availability of GCAC’s resources or ability to attract these resources.
